A Family Business with a Passion for Fluid Power
Appalachian Fluid Power was founded in May 2011 by Dale and Amy Knopsnider, who brought decades of hands-on hydraulic experience to the business. Before launching AFP, Dale spent 12 years in engineering and machine design, followed by 9 years as a Sales Engineer for a major fluid power distributor in Pittsburgh, and 7 years as President and co-owner of Hydraulic Resources in White, PA. Amy worked alongside him as Office Manager, helping lead day-to-day operations.
Together, they established AFP to offer reliable, expert-driven service to customers across southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond. With a focus on long-term relationships, quality craftsmanship, and a responsive approach to customer service, the company has grown while staying true to its roots.
